POSITION SUMMARY

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Current/active group exercise certification by AFAA or ACE, or other approved certifying body required. Instructors for Les Mills formats need only Les Mills format certification(s)
• Current/active specialty certification required for: Yoga, Pilates, Group Cycling, Les Mills, Zumba, and other approved specialty programming
• Current/active American Heart Association's Heart Saver CPR & AED certification required
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required
Licensure:
Certification: Current/active specialty certification required for: Yoga, Pilates, Group Cycling, Les Mills, Zumba, and other approved specialty programming
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
- Attend regular staff meetings
- Contribute ideas to enrich member experience
- Maintain a good working relationship with peers
- Maintain Health First Pro-Health I-CARE values
- Complete all HF mandatory requirements prior to the expiration date
- Attend instructor meetings and training education
- Actively maintain all applicable certifications, renewing prior to expiration
- Productively communicate with management team
- Provide safe and effective classes consistent with class descriptions
- Demonstrate different activity levels for different abilities
- Utilize equipment in a safe and knowledgable manner and report equipment in need of repair or replacement
- Observe cass participants to facilitate proper form and provide corrections for safety
- Deliver core competency of basic anatomy and kinesiology
- Maintain a positive attitude toward facility, HF, peers and management and work well with all departments
- Provide a structured class with music utilization, motivation and proper cueing techniques
- Modify class content to accommodate various ability levels
- Utilize music appropriate to class population
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions related to the members' workouts
- Exhibit professional conduct
- Return equipment to proper place after use and clean equipment as necessary
- Follow attendance requirements
- As a substitute instructor, substitute classes at least once a month to maintain employment status
- If requested, a scheduled instructor must substitute at least once a month
- Utilize the time clock by punching in and out at scheduled class times
- Maintain accurate tracking of class size
