Equitable is looking for an experienced Sales Desk Manager to support our Internal Wholesale East Region team in our Charlotte, NC office. This is a hybrid position working in the Charlotte office, working remotely and 20% travel.

The Group Retirement Sales Desk Manager will manage the daily activity and operation of internal wholesalers who provide sales support to Equitable Advisors, 3rd Party Advisors, consultants & Equitable wholesalers selling Group Retirement (GR) products. This team may also initiate direct proactive contact with plan level prospects in efforts to promote sales. The GR Sales Desk has internals focused on the Retirement Gateway (RG) and Equitable Retirement Vision (ERV) products as well as internals focused on the Equivest (EQV) product across the various tax codes, but there should be cohesiveness as an overall unit to leverage cross support and best practice consistency where appropriate.

This position is responsible for supervising all sales activities of internal wholesalers, including call monitoring, phone logs, sales presentations and general business activities designed to promote and sell Equitable GR products. This person will also be responsible for coordinating training programs and providing ongoing coaching for the internal wholesalers as it relates to Equitable's products and services, competitor knowledge, plan design, presentation skills training and territory management. Since this individual should also possess skills with product knowledge and the group retirement plan market, conference calls with agents, wholesalers or clients may be necessary.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead team of 7 licensed Internal Wholesalers
  • Manage all internal wholesaler daily activity and interaction with Equitable Advisors, outside brokers, wholesalers & potential prospects
  • Develop, implement and maintain regular coaching and training activities for internal wholesalers
  • As supervising Principal, monitor activities and licensing requirements to ensure team is compliant
  • Actively participate in coordinating offers and presentations to high profile or high asset prospects
  • Develop and maintain metrics for activity tracking, such as inbound/outbound calls and pipeline follow-up - to ensure consistent, regular and meaningful contact is maintained with EQ Advisors and selling brokers
  • Coordinate useful feedback from field on market trends, competitive landscape & present to appropriate GR areas on regular basis.
  • Manage tight control of prospect pipeline, ensuring current statuses are regularly updated and proper resources are applied for high asset or high-profile prospects.
  • Motivate & coach proper utilization of selling techniques: IMPACT selling, Edge, Fusion presentations, etc.
  • Conduct remote & "double jacking" call assessments to ensure effective sales and territory performance.
  • Initiate & provide individual feedback, career development, performance evaluation, motivation, and discipline.
  • Effectively utilize technology to perform metric reporting, trend analysis and statistical interpretations.
  • Report to DVP on team's performance and provide insight and solutions to business needs.
  • Partner with other business teams to help drive sales initiatives, firm strategies, and goals.


The base salary for this position is $90,000. This role is eligible for variable compensation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years Retirement Sales desk work experience
  • FINRA Series SIE, 63, 6 or 7 Registrations
  • FINRA Series 24 or 26 Registrations or obtain within 120 days of hire
  • Life & Health Insurance License or obtain within 120 days of hire


Preferred Qualifications
  • People Management experience
  • QPFC, CLU, ChFC, CFP highly desired
  • Exceptional communication/interpersonal skills
  • Highly Proficient in MS Office programs with computer skills
  • organizational skills
