Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in a consumer electronics technical environment with validation experience, or 3 years with an advanced degree.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience designing high speed digital or analog systems.
  • Experience with design of cell phone baseband.
  • Experience with embedded systems, processor selection, various communication protocols (e.g., USB C, SPI, I2C, UART, MIPI, DSI), analog design, sensor design, low power design, audio acoustics, Cadence/Allegro, or various RF technologies.
  • Experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and python scripting.
  • Experience in the lab and in the details (e.g., soldering, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition) and contagious enthusiasm and passion for engineering.


About the job

The Pixel Platform team is responsible for Pixel platform hardware design excellence by leading system-level platform bench validation and performance optimization. You will contribute experience in hardware system design and verification, and knowledge of the overall system architecture of consumer electronics products. Additionally, you will define hardware system quality and validation strategy for new products in high-speed interfaces, signal/power integrity, system integration, user experience, etc.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally with Electrical, Power, Sensor, Radio Frequency (RF), Battery, Audio, Software Engineers, and compliance engineers to complete the validation of the Pixel Hardware Platform design. This will ensure the product system integration teams have a stable Hardware Platform Design to leverage for NPI product design.The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for ensuring the hardware system design integrity and quality optimization of Google Pixel platform designs.
  • Lead cross functional collaboration in executing validation plans, troubleshooting issues, and documenting results to ensure product design quality and ecosystem performance.
  • Lead complete design verification, signal characterization, power delivery and system interoperability testing. Defined comprehensive system level validation plans for the Pixel ecosystem.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and drive issues resolution including those related to hardware architecture, system performance, production quality and overall system integration.
