Job Description

  • Performs major duties and functions as described in the Staff Nurse position description
  • Prepares staffing time schedules according that provide for quality nursing care on a twenty-four-hour (24) per day, seven (7) days a week.
  • Orients new personnel to the unit and equipment in collaboration with the Nursing supervisor and TACC Leadership.
  • Make necessary changes in staff schedule as needed.
  • Promotes a positive and pleasant attitude conducive to the workplace which enhances the Mission, Vision and Value Statement of NYC Health + Hospitals.
  • Assumes the responsibility for the performance of team members through guidance and supervision of their activities.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in nursing practice and policies.
  • Delivers Nursing Care when required
  • Supervises performance of professional and non-professional personnel.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional growth. Maintains nursing skills through participation in continuing education programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by TACC leadership.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and
2. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); and
3. One (1) year of experience as a registered nurse.
