About the Team
The global Monetization Integrity team ensures TikTok users have a safe experience while viewing advertisements. They work closely with advertisers to create ad policies, manage content review processes, and more. As we continue to add advertising on TikTok, this team is critical in assuring a joyful and creative ads experience for the community.
The team is composed of Policy, Operations, Risk, Planning, Training and Data specialists working cross functionally with key stakeholders (Sales, Product, Engineering, Public Relations, Global Communications, Legal, others). To design and optimize ad policies, manage moderation processes, and build scalable systems to enforce monetization policies at scale. This team is critical in working together to solve large issues that have significant global impact.

As the Global Head of Risk & Policy and part of the Monetization Integrity team, you will lead and support the Global MI business which contains 2 parts: 1) Policy, focusing on, among other responsibilities, developing global advertising policy strategies, and socialising policy vision and framework for both internal and external stakeholders, partner with cross-functional teams including Sales, Product and Legal to develop new advertising policies and enforcement criteria 2) Risk Management, focusing on proactive risk investigation and reactive risk response.
You will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic decision maker and play a pivotal role in developing and implementing risk management strategies using data insight, framework, roadmap and data measurement. Also, working on advertising policies for TikTok and ByteDance on a global scale and devising strategies on how to enforce it. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations while facilitating responsible advertising practices.
You will be instrumental in maintaining successful relationships with our key stakeholders and finding opportunities to drive efficiency and operational excellence within the Risk & Policy pillar. This team is imperative to driving strategic relationships with our vendors to enable world class support for our growing eco-system of advertisers on TikTok.
As the Pillar Lead for Risk & Policy you will be part of the MI Leadership Team and be responsible for shaping strategy and executing against that strategy. You will partner with your fellow pillar leads to drive operational excellence within MI and ensure we have sustainable growth.

Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team. Set the overall direction of functions in the organization, including full accountability for strategic planning and operational execution across multiple functions.
- Make data-driven decisions: Be truth-seeking with data.
- Identify operational and structural opportunities and help to improve existing or develop new processes to drive efficiency. Design and execute high-impact initiatives that provide increased value to users and advertisers.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global risk management and policy strategy strategy.
- Identify potential risks, assess their impact, and create mitigation plans.
- Lead the team in high-priority escalations scenarios, driving an action-oriented approach while liaising with senior executives to coordinate cross functional effort.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends and regulatory changes that could impact TikTok.
- Create, review, and refine advertising policies to align with TikTok and ByteDance goals and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure policies are clear and enforced.
- Ensure that advertising practices adhere to corresponding countries and international regulations and standards.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Legal (PR, GR and Regulatory Compliance), Sales, integrity community and Product. Build relationships with external stakeholders, such as industry associations and regulatory.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in a management role at a technology company with a focus on Ads Integrity, Risk, Security Operations, Trust and Safety or similar types of functions;
- Significant experience working across multi-markets in a global business and leading a team within policy and policy enforcement, specifically regarding media/content monetization or equivalent professional experience;
- Stakeholder Management & Influencing: Ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders. Build strong relationships. Be able to resolve issues without escalation. Coach and support their team to navigate through conflicting priorities.
Preferred Qualification:
- Demonstrated strong experience collaborating with senior executive partners in product, legal, sales departments to drive outcomes;
- Experience in vision and planning setting, OKRs, setting KPIs, frameworks and roadmap development;
- Demonstrated understanding of product and platform risk processes, including machine learning, and model optimization, human-in-the-loop AI systems, data sources and systems, risk measurement, blue/red team and incident response.
