Your Role:

The Head of Process and Analytical Development (PAD) at MilliporeSigma is responsible for building an organization that can develop robust and scalable processes and analytical methods for custom manufacturing projects at Madison & Verona in the field of HPAPI and Potent API's. The position oversees a team of process development and analytical development leaders and scientists that are responsible for the daily team activities.

  • Works with Project Management, Marketing and Business Development to provide technical input and strategic planning for HPAPI and Potent API small molecule portfolios.
  • Collaborates with Directors at other sites to bring Science and Technology excellence to cross department initiatives about policy implementation, best practices, quality, and safety.
  • Has an external professional network, participates in professional associations and stays current on emerging technical trends.
  • Manages the capacity and portfolio of all PAD CM projects at the sites.
  • Coordinates information for all proposals for custom projects.
  • Leads technical discussions with clients.
  • Accountable for all KPIs of and objectives for the organization.
  • Promotes a climate of positive employee relations by fostering two-way communication.
  • Drives performance of the organization by setting stretch targets and a structured approach to continuous improvement.
  • Proactively demands ethical behavior in internal and external work.
  • Lead and motivate through positive reinforcement, encouragement, example, and communication of company values.
  • Empowers others through developing their talents, fostering potential and motivating excellence through a shared vision of the direction of the company.
  • Ensure skills and knowledge development occurs to allow employees to maximize performance in their current positions.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related scientific discipline required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, training and/or motivating people.
  • At least 8 years supervisory experience.
  • Capability to travel up to 30% of the time


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven record of delivering results through others.
  • Project management, planning and scheduling experience a plus.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills: Motivate employees and coordinate employee activities.
  • Strong communication skills: Engage their employees and work with management to make sure the job gets done; able to clearly explain what needs to be done will be necessary.
  • Communicate well with all levels of the organization, across functional groups and external clients.
  • Excellent problem-solving: Able to analyze different information and make decisions based on needs, priorities, changing business conditions and budgetary constraints.
  • Attention to detail: making sure cleaning, upkeep and safety standards are maintained, or efficiencies are realized and self-starter.
  • Fundamental understanding of quality systems and requirements (ISO standards, GMP, etc.) where applicable
  • Working knowledge of Safety, Environmental, Regulatory, and Equipment Maintenance
