Responsibilities
Position summary:
We seek an Outreach Coordinator for a new outpatient program for young people (16-30) experiencing a high level of distress and showing signs that indicate increased risk for a psychotic disorder. The program is called Strong Foundations and it will be part of the Young Adult Program at the Strong Ties clinic of the University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry. The Outreach Coordinator role will be to inform the community (schools, clinics, etc.) about the new service available and of the criteria for CHR status. In this position the coordinator will work with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, psychologists, social workers, schools and community members to obtain referrals of those at high risk before they experience their first psychotic episode. The Coordinator will also prepare informational materials (e.g., brochures, flyers), work with departmental IT staff to create a program website, and give presentations about the program in the Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse areas.
Supervision/direction received:
The Coordinator will report to the program Director (Steven Silverstein, Ph.D.), who will serve as supervisor for the position. The Coordination will prepare, handle and process information involving a variety of details, following written procedures and using some judgment to make indicated selections.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with major course work in an appropriate health, social or technical field and 2-3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to work in a team setting with all levels of management and staff. The applicant must be willing to develop the logistics of community outreach, be persistent and flexible in assuring on-going cooperation/compliance. Must have reliable transportation.
Ongoing knowledge of computer databases, work processing, spreadsheets, power point and graphics.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $43,659 - $58,947 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Duties:
Community Outreach
- Collaborates and meets with community stakeholders (clergy, families, community leaders, and others) in settings such as schools, churches, community agencies, county departments of human services, and recreation centers to increase awareness about Strong Foundations.
- Attends meetings at adolescent psychiatry clinics, pediatric practices, family medicine clinics, psychiatry departments, high school and college counseling centers, and private practices.
- Attends local meetings of psychiatric, psychological, and social work associations, and NAMI meetings.
- Communicates frequently with agencies in the Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse regions by phone, Zoom, and sometimes via in person presentations and meetings.
- Creates posters, brochures and works with Departmental staff to develop a user-friendly program website that will be informative to patients, families, and clinicians who may wish to refer patients.
- Prepares factual reports and provides data for progress reports to the university and to the funding agency supporting the clinic.
- Will participate in program planning and evaluation meetings
- Copying, filing and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
