The Engineering Manager oversees the maintenance staff, facilities budget, the building, grounds and equipment (HVAC, plumbing, etc.), and provides oversight for all contracted service personnel at Baptist Medical Campuses. The Facilities Manager ensures preventative maintenance and repairs to buildings and equipment are done properly and in a timely manner. This individual is responsible for safety drills, codes and necessary staff training, serves on the Safety Committee and ensures compliance with Joint Commission environment of care requirements.Description

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in related field highly preferred.
  • At least 5 years previous work experience in the field of Facilities Management required.
  • Previous hospital systems experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, CMS, Joint Commission and other related regulatory having jurisdiction preferred.
  • Specialized training in mechanical, electrical or plumbing with certification highly desired.
  • Skilled in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment.
  • Proven ability to manage others.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
