Duties and Responsibilities

Load, unload, operate and/or direct the operation of several heat treat furnaces simultaneously for the heat treating of forgings. Set and adjust automatic controls, timers, and pyrometers for controlling operation and heat of furnaces and quenching.
• Obtain job assignments from supervisor or manager.
• Work safely in accordance with plant safety guidelines including cardinal rules of safety.
• Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
• Correctly access and interpret documentation (QMS, etc.)
• Perform basic racking and loading of product (Furnaces)
• Meet area/product specific production standards
• Complete process and operation documentation (Traceability, etc.)
• Operate overhead crane
• Adjust furnace controller patterns (Ignition)
• Prepare Thermocouples
• Work in a team environment, i.e., follow instructions and assist others as needed.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition
• Perform daily housekeeping / 6S activities as required
• Maintains continuity among work shifts through verbal or documented communication for required actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Operate 30K Forklift
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisor or manager.

Required Skills:
• The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals
• The ability to use basic inspection tools such micrometers
• The ability to navigate intranet to locate process documents - basic computer skills
• The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions
• Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
• Attention to detail
• Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions
• Willingness to learn
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.

Experience & Education
• High school diploma or GED
• 0 to 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment; prior military experience; or technical certification / degree

Working Conditions:
• Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
• Constant exposure to moderate noise
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes, odors, hot / cold temperatures, inside / outside noise vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to work any shift including overtime, weekends and holidays if scheduled.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for up to twelve (12) hours.
• Requires hand manipulation including simple grasping, pushing, and pulling of materials.
• Must be able to safely operate an overhead crane.
• Must be able to reach and work above and below the shoulder level.
• Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
• Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Visual acuity skill to detect any flaws in the parts being inspected.
