Job Responsibilities

• Safe operation of a variety of heavy construction vehicles and equipment.
• Responsible for daily inspection of equipment and performing basic repair and maintenance as needed to ensure the safe working condition of all equipment.
• Read and understand various types of load charts.
• Maintain a clean work environment.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator; experience with excavators, loaders, and dozers is preferred.
• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a variety of heavy construction vehicles and equipment.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of routine and preventative maintenance of heavy construction vehicles and equipment.
• Knowledge of principles and procedures of documentation and record-keeping including operator's books.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
• Knowledge of safe load securing practices/rigging experience is a plus.
• Understanding of hand signals.
• State licensing may be required depending upon state.
• NCCER certification is a plus.
• CDL B License required.
