Duties

To provide support to end-users for PC, server or mainframe applications, and hardware. To restore service and/or identify and correct core problems by interacting with network services, software systems engineering and/or applications development. To simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties. To recommend systems modifications to reduce user problems. To refer more complex problems to intermediate and/or senior level. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.

Job Specific Duties
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer hardware, software, and network.
  • Monitor help desk phones, emails and other electronic problem reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure responses are appropriate, precise, and timely.
  • Implement and install new computer solutions, contributing to logistical solutions for unit needs.
  • Utilize the Problem Management database to register problems and record most effective solutions.
  • Contribute to departmental training with other staff and supervisor.
  • Effectively resolve customer IT needs, record events/problems as well as their resolution in a ticketing system, and perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
