Purpose of Position
This position will specialize in perinatal Maternal Fetal Medicine and/or High-Risk OB/GYN Sonography. This will include Fetal Anatomy Surveys, Doppler Studies and Biophysical Profiles. Sonographer will perform exams and procedures under general and direct supervision from the Maternal Fetal Medicine Physicians.

Description
1. Practices with a Customer Service approach to all activities.
2. Utilizes internal and external resources appropriately.
3. Documents according to entity/department guidelines.
4. Set up, adjusts and operates medical equipment and instruments.
5. Performs testing ordered by patient's physician and works closely with, and assists, Maternal Fetal Medicine Physicians.
6. Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and procedures to insure safety and comfort while preparing for and while undergoing ultrasound procedures.
7. Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency using and/or modifying established procedures, to assure timely completion of work in conformance with department policies and procedures.
· Evaluates ultrasound images for technical quality
· Maintain adequate imaging records and label all images with proper identification
8. Maintain a thorough knowledge of departmental and Hospital policies and procedures as they pertain to the job, including the fire and disaster plans. Comply with Infection Control policies and procedures.
9. Ability to accurately perform Level II obstetrical ultrasound exams in a timely manner, including multiple gestations.
10. Provide Ultrasound guidance for invasive procedures such as amniocentesis.
11. Perform First Trimester Nuchal Translucency scans.
12. Obtains all clinical information available through charts, previous imaging, lab tests, etc. prior to exams.
13. Schedules and receives patients for exams.
14. Checks and maintains supplies as necessary.
15. Maintains sterilization of equipment using appropriate cleaning procedures involved with specialized equipment.
16. Knowledge of growth and development of Fetal Anatomy.
17. All certifications and registrations must be maintained, active and current.
18. Performs administrative and other tasks as requested.

Qualifications
· Must read, write and communicate in English
· Credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and registered in OB/GYN
· Nuchal Translucency certification required
· 1-2 Years previous experience in high risk OB ultrasound to include Doppler, M-Mode, and Real Time Modalities
· Current BLS
