Job Description

The Data Integrity Analyst is responsible and accountable for providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by maintaining data integrity in applicable electronic health information systems. Ensure each patient has unique patient identifiers and up-to-date demographic information for each primary system (including, but not limited to, HBOC, MIDAS, SCM, ED Manager and LinkLogic) through analysis of database information. Provide compliance with state and federal regulations (HIPAA, Joint Commission) regarding health information. Support the Health Information Management Department by assisting management with special projects, associate training, and quality improvement.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of designated Health First computer systems and applications. Understand the purpose of a unique patient identifier/medical record number and its impact to such systems and applications. Demonstrate the ability to accurately identify and merge duplicate medical record numbers in each independent system. Demonstrate ability to accurately update and merge electronic and paper medical records.
  • Proficient ability in ED Manager merge function after Star downtime.
  • Accurately processes amendment requests.
  • Responds to requests for Accounting of Disclosures.
  • Assist in education and training of HIM and Health First associates within scope of knowledge.
  • Assist in providing clinical documentation for internal and external customers for review and audit processes.
  • Ensure integrity of demographic information in designated health information systems. Update demographic information for all Health First patients.


Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • AS/BS in Health Information Management preferred.
  • RHIA/RHIT certification (or eligibility for certification within 1 year of hire) preferred.
  • 2+ years of HIM Department experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal legislation applicable to health information management.
  • Extensive computer skills (experience with HBOC, SCC, EPI preferred).
  • Highly proficient in GroupWise and Microsoft Office applications.
