Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel Truck/Equipment Technician in Santa Maria CA!

The Diesel Truck/Equipment Technician is responsible for timely repair and maintenance of light - heavy duty fleet vehicles, trailers, and various equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation. This position is multi-functional. Strong knowledge of the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of these three types of units. The mechanic position also requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to diesel engine diagnostics, brakes, tires, AC, and PM services. Material Handling & Pallet Jacks, Electric, Propane.

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

CDL preferred or 90 days to obtain

$35.00 hour - $45.00 hour

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to a fleet of light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty trucks. The fleet also includes CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
• Perform services and repairs to diesel engines, brakes, tires, AC, and regular PM services are required.
• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
• Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary
• Perform other duties as required

Key Competencies and Minimum Education

• At least 5+ years experience performing vehicle maintenance or must possess auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
• Experience servicing and repairing CAT equipment, generators, aerials, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment - highly desired
• ASE Certifications - preferred
• Must have valid Driver's License- Class C
• Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle
• Must provide own hand tools & toolbox
