You will also provide guidance, analysis, and recommendations on all storage components. This exciting opportunity will support private cloud and virtualized hosting services for an enterprise implementation for the customer. Hosting services are provided through two geodiverse, remotely managed data centers.

HOW A STORAGE ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
  • Lead the design and implementation of storage based solutions on HP and Hitachi, Netapp, Pure and Brocade technologies, ensuring alignment with customer objectives and industry best practices
  • Plans, coordinates, implements, and configures storage infrastructure (SAN switches, storage arrays, backup/recovery, storage appliances, etc.)
  • Maintains and/or enhances storage system tools and processes
  • Troubleshoot storage infrastructure as it relates to application and performance issues
  • Supports the design, planning, and implementation of storage for new applications
  • Documents and maintains storage assets
  • Maintain optimal system performance and make capacity change recommendations to enable optimal system performance
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience or 11 years if no degree
  • Experience in administering Hitachi, NetApp, and/or Pure storage solutions
  • Storage certification preferred
Preferred Technical Skills:
  • Server support experience, including blades and enclosures (preferred hardware platform: HP)
  • SAN switch experience
  • Enterprise storage system experience (preferred Hitachi VSP and HP 3PAR)
  • VMware system administration experience (preferred Version 5.x)
  • OS System Administration Skills (both Red Hat Linux and/or Windows)
  • Network Administration Experience (related to firewalls, LAN, DNS, etc)
  • Backup administrator experience in a SAN environment (preferred application: NetBackup)
  • Experience with Pure Storage design and Implementation
  • Experience with storage arrays and management tools, specifically Pure, HPE 3PAR, NetApp, and Hitachi
  • Demonstrated experience performing storage device performance monitoring and tuning

The likely salary range for this position is $62,754 - $116,438. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
