Overview

As a Host/Hostess you should have experience with Upscale Dining service, as well as excellent knowledge of the NYC food and drink scene. Weekend availability is non-negotiable.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $10.00.

Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. Also, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant.
Manage reservations and seating assignments efficiently.
Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and ensuring a smooth transition to servers.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.
Communicate effectively with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate table seating and optimize guest satisfaction.
Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints with professionalism.
Assist with special events or private dining arrangements as needed.
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe dining environment.
Support teamwork by assisting colleagues during busy periods.

Qualifications

Friendly and outgoing personality with a passion for customer service.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with diverse guests.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of basic restaurant operations and reservations systems is a plus.
