Hot Section Engineering Support to Operations (HSE ESTO) at Pratt & Whitney is responsible for providing engineering support to ensure on-time product delivery, continued producibility enhancements, and overall improvements in production costs and quality signature.We are currently looking for a Rotors & Shafts Manager to join our team in support of commercial and military hardware production across our various internal and external suppliers. In this role you will lead the HSE ESTO Rotors & Shafts Team in support of both military and commercial production.You will oversee a small group of Design engineers and be responsible for task assignments, employee development and performance, manpower planning and resource coordination, as well as communication with operations and across the various CIPTs and programs that ESTO supports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach, train and develop the technical proficiency of both P&W and outsource design engineers.
  • Work closely with the Quality, Procurement and Materials organizations to manage priorities.
  • Work closely with the Operations team and ESTO Pro-Cert group to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review and approve design documentation and analyses.
  • Provide design support for production and engineering investigations.
  • Ensure support for multi-discipline teams to provide timely design solutions that address various quality, delivery and cost issues.
  • Ensure appropriate Outsourcing work is completed, reviewed and approved, consistent with discipline standard work.
  • Collaborate with other groups to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.
  • Ensure proper documentation and communication of results to management and external customers.
  • Work with CIPT to define manpower needs and staff appropriately


Basic Qualifications:
  • BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of gas turbine experience or 7 + years with an advance degree
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in production support and part design and development
  • 10+ years of gas turbine experience with a focus on frames and cases related hardware
  • Proven leadership and analytical skills
  • The ability to craft clear communication and develop strong working relationships
  • Possess excellent judgment and professional maturity
