Human Resources announces an openings for Hourly Language Interpreter

RESPONSIBILITIES:
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK (May not include all duties performed - The Hourly Language Interpreter reports to the Coordinator of the Language Services Registration Center. and works with staff to coordinate and support school-based language interpretation needs.

The Hourly Language Interpreter works independently performing a variety of professional interpretation activities under the general supervision of the Coordinator Language Services Registration Center. The Hourly Language Interpreter is an official

interpreter for Arlington Public Schools. Must comply with School Board Policies and Policy Implementation Procedures and supervisor's instructions.
EXPERIENCE:
General education and experience • Current accreditation/certification; or • An advanced degree and/or Interpreter Certificate from an accredited institution and evidence of one-year experience as a full-time interpreter; or • A bachelor's degree and/or Interpreter Certificate from an accredited institution and evidence of two years experience as a full time interpreter; or • For candidates with less than a bachelor's degree, evidence of five years' work as full time interpreter experience • Experience in interpreting in education, including special education, social sciences, literary or closely related materials. • Experience in documentation and terminology research.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The incumbent should be accredited/certified or be eligible to obtain accreditation/certification during the probationary period. The incumbent should comply with the continuing education requirements for re-accreditation/re-certification.

APPLY TO: SALARY:
Salary will be based on the FY2022-23 SY salary schedule. Hourly rate is $28.56 per hour
