The Housekeeper maintains the cleanliness of the facility under the supervision of the Director of Assisted Living/designee. Performs a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks within the facility. Performs duties as assigned by Supervisor. Is willing to perform simple and manual tasks. Shows some initiative and judgment involved in aiding wherever required. Can cooperate and work well with other employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Housekeepers:

• Keeps all resident areas clean and sanitary.
• Keeps utility in clean and orderly condition.
• Disinfects and sterilizes equipment and supplies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment. Polishes if applicable. Empties receptacles as needed.
• Maintains adequate housekeeping supplies.
• Uses chemicals according to manufacturer's instructions.
• Maintains infection control standards while cleaning.
• Ensures cleaning equipment and housekeeping cars are clean, safe, and orderly.
• Promote and demonstrate positive customer service towards Fifth Star Care Management, co-workers, residents and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Housekeeper Qualifications:

• No prior experience or training necessary, but preferred. On-the-job training provided.
• Ability to understand and follow procedures, work assignments, instructions, warnings, and labels
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Adequate strength and endurance to meet the strenuous physical demands of such responsibilities as loading and unloading washers and dryers; coordination necessary to fold clothing items and linen
• Color vision to ascertain stains and separate colored garments from white
