Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Human Resources Generalist serves as a Human Resources contact for Team Members at the specific facility and is responsible for implementing Human Resources practices in the areas of employment, retention, compensation, benefits, and team member relations. The Human Resources Generalist regularly reviews and audits data in the HRIS system to ensure accurate electronic Team Member files and maintains Team Member hard-copy personnel files to comply with agency accreditations. Involvement on Human Resources process improvement teams and other committees is essential. This person assists with all Human Resources functions for all team members of their facility. This position interacts with a wide range of people from the community and from within the hospital. As such, the Human Resources Generalist position requires the ability to demonstrate an outstanding customer-service orientation. Attends training sessions, various meetings, seminars, etc to enhance and maintain current knowledge of general Human Resource issues and compliance regulations. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment.
The Human Resources generalist is responsible for all or part of these areas:
• At the direction and oversight of the HR Manager / Director, analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with leadership to develop solutions, programs, and policies
• The incumbent must demonstrate an ability to work independently, aggressively managing changing priorities and a very heavy workload while assuring that goals are accomplished on time and the communication of challenges, issues, or problems are appropriately elevated.
• Improving the public perception of Human Resources by working closely with management and team members to enhance work relationships, build morale, and improve retention
• Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation
• Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports from database
• Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
• Conducts exit interviews
• Ensure that pay practices are followed per established policies
• Analyzes data on an ongoing basis to discuss data analysis to include trends in turnover, retention, and metrics
• Attends departmental staff meetings of assigned units as a HR representative to expand team member relations
• Completes assigned HR operational tasks to include facility event planning and coordination, HR tracers, unemployment claims, new hire processing / auditing, and other duties as may be assigned
• Maintains audit of licensure and certification compliance as per State guidelines and policy
The Human Resources Generalist originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an team member-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
The Human Resources Generalist coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff; reports to the facility HR Leader, and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
In lieu of degree, equivalent years of HR experience may substitute for this requirement. Must demonstrate efficiency working with computers and demonstrate proficiency in operating the HRIS and other common office software. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are a requirement for this position. Must have the ability to perform tasks in an expedient manner and regards highest confidentiality in all respects.
