Job Summary

The Human Resources Consultant is primarily focused on delivery of client services. Human Resources Consultant supports a combination of monthly retained engagements and project-based engagements. The Consultant may serve as an additional resource to a team of HR professionals or may serve as a department of one taking direction from the engagement lead on areas with which the Consultant is less experienced. The Consultant coordinates and performs administrative Human Resource operations of the client's organization and develops and implements tactical Human Resource processes and procedures. The Human Resource consultant makes routine, tactical decisions independent of management approval.

Responsibilities
  • Builds trust-based relationships that give clients confidence in seeking guidance on tactical and operational situations.
  • Takes initiative on identifying solutions to assigned tasks and identifies compliance updates that pertain to clients.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of customer service with ability to approach difficult situations in a measured way that represents Helios' brand and values; may seek guidance from the engagement lead on how to best respond.
  • Identifies messages that may be difficult for the client to hear and would benefit them and their business for us to share and seeks guidance from the engagement lead to craft the message; relies upon the engagement lead to deliver message to the client.
  • Participates in the delivery of formal client presentations.
  • Hold difficult conversations with peers, give timely, direct feedback, and asks for guidance on how to address challenging situations with clients
  • Participate in the preparation of and leading the delivery of formal client presentations.
  • Informs engagement lead of all employee relations issues and complex situations and comes with proposed solutions.
  • Develops and executes project plan according to the defined scope of work
  • Sets client priorities with support and guidance from engagement lead or more senior consultant also assigned to the engagement.
  • Alerts engagement lead of potential scope creep
  • Identifies potential opportunity for cross-selling with existing clients
  • Participates in business development discussions with existing clients and "meet and greet" discussions with potential new clients.
  • Identifies potential opportunity for cross-selling with existing clients
  • Encouraged to contribute to thought leadership through attending targeted events and writing blog article.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years' experience in Human Resources
  • A bachelor's and/or professional certification is required
  • Broad generalist skills in all tactical and operational components of Human Resources with the ability to establish processes and implement best practices.
  • The ability to think critically and make informed recommendations on tactical and operational matters
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication clearly, concisely, and confidently with all levels of employees and management at Helios and clients and through concise documentation
Physical and Behavioral Requirements: ??
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time. ??
  • May need to move about a corporate office(s) less than half the time and be able to maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) up to 15 lbs. ??
  • Ability to operate machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists (ex: typing, etc.) more than half the time. ??
  • Ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors. ??
