Position Summary

This position serves as an independent and effective HR practitioner working as a member of the University of Georgia Office of Human Resources Service Center of Excellence on the Inquiry team. The University Human Resources Department consists of five Centers of Excellence: Service, Workforce Engagement, Talent, Employee Wellbeing, and HR Administration. Within the Service Center, the Inquiry team is responsible for utilizing the tools and resources available to assist campus with general HR issues regarding onboarding and I-9 processing, applicant and job posting management, employee total rewards, and leave administration, among others.

The incumbent will be needed to provide information, advice or guidance and support to managers, supervisors, staff, and faculty, keeping abreast of HR issues, identifying areas of concern, and recommending/implementing solutions. This is a highly responsible position and will collaborate with team members to provide efficient and effective HR services to the University community. This individual works with supervisors and employees to provide accurate advice and consultation to university employees, supervisors, and management. They interpret policies, procedures, laws, and regulations for departments university-wide.

This is a full-time, fully benefited limited term position to work with a University Human Resources project through Spring 2025 . This position may be subject to telecommuting.

Through phone, ticket, and in-person interactions, performs a variety of employment activities including working with onboarding processes, initial/new hire packet inquiries and troubleshooting, I-9 processing and verification, benefit and retirement information and scheduling, and basic absence management.

Works on human resources and customer service projects to include, but not limited to, data collection, analysis, and presentation. This includes analyzing queries and drawing appropriate conclusions which completely address all aspects of the topic or issue. Prepares and effectively communicates reports concerning human resources activities.
