(CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE) Will report into the office 3 days a week and telework 2 days a week. Subject to change.

Sr. Human Capital Management Analyst (Policy)

Do you have 3 years' experience working in Human Resources; or completion of an undergraduate core program in human resources, business administration, or public administration and 1 year experience working in human resources?

If so, then this opportunity may be for you! The Ohio Department of Public Safety is hiring for a Senior HCM Analyst to join the Human Resources Team in Columbus, OH. This position is hybrid eligible with the ability to work at least three days in the office (located in Columbus, OH) & up to two days remote each week .

In this position you will:
  • Review and revise existing employment policies
  • Initiate policy revisions or creation based on changes to rules, regulatory guidance, employment laws, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Monitor and assign policies to employees for acknowledgement
  • Conduct research to stay abreast of current trends and best practices in human resources management
  • Manage HR special projects in consultation with HR leadership
The ideal candidate will have a strong HR generalist background, have experience working within the confines of collective bargaining agreements/contracts, and is able to balance working independently and collaboratively with various work units.

Serve as human resources coordinator for Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) by coordinating one or more advanced human resources sub-programs, human resources policy development (e.g., formulation & implementation of human resources program policies such as overtime, employee conduct, dress code):

-Analyze, review & track ODPS policies (e.g., update policies & circulate for approval; conduct research & recommend policy & procedure changes as assigned, etc. assign new &/or updated policies to agency employees);

-Collaborate with ODPS Information Technology Office (ITO) regarding updates &/or changes to the electronic policy system (e. g., test system upgrades to ensure features are operating appropriately; identify system errors & work with ITO regarding developing a resolution);

-Collect & manipulate data & analyze trends.

-Manage HR special projects and programs for the ODPS HR Office (e.g., HR/IT initiatives (HR Chatbot), mentorship program, recognition program);

-Serve as the point of contact & assist in monitoring, preparing &/or processing development of forms (e.g., Teleworking Agreements; Leave of Absence (LOA) requests; all other HR related forms).

-Serves as back-up for public records requests for ODPS (e.g., gather, redact & prepare information for public records requests in accordance with record retention schedules; enter records requests into ODPS data-base system; speak to &/or meet with investigators conducting background checks, etc.; process & fulfill personnel information requests from ODPS employees).

-Perform other related administrative duties as assigned (e.g., maintain training course materials & records; operate personal computer to type, log, enter, access &/or generate correspondence &/or various reports; answer telephone & respond to inquiries received from department personnel, employees & general public; etc.).

Qualifications
3 yrs. exp. in human resources.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration; 12 mos. exp. in human resources.

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Analyst, 64612.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
