Job Summary

The Luddy human resource (HR) team is seeking a motivated, knowledgeable team player to assume several responsibilities within the academic and staff hiring and onboarding realms. The person selected for this role will report directly to the Director of Human Resources for the Luddy School and will be entrusted to manage most components of the full-time staff recruitment and onboarding processes, as well as will assist the Manager of Faculty Administration and HR with academic personnel recruitment and onboarding.

Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Assists with the academic hiring and onboarding, as well as the full-time staff hiring and onboarding.
  • Assists with faculty appointments and reappointments.
  • Assists academic resignations, retirements, and terminations.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned.
General Responsibilities
  • Provides general support to human resource business partners (HRBPs) and others by conducting basic research, basic guidance, policies and procedures on HR related matters.
  • Ensures compliance with state and/or federal law and provides administration for areas such as FMLA, I-9, ADA, etc.
  • Researches, reviews, tracks, and may approve documentation for compliance.
  • Provides training in compliance and other HR areas.
  • Maintains records in compliance with state and/or federal laws for employment and benefits and other compliance areas.

EDUCATION

Required
  • High School diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 4 years in compliance areas related to employment and benefits or related experience.
Preferred
  • 2 years working in academic human resources.
  • 2 years working in staff human resources.

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Additional Information

For the first 3-6 months, the focus will be solely on the academic side with this person taking on primary responsibility for the academic hiring and onboarding duties within Luddy in Manager of Faculty and Administration and HR's absence. They will seek out assistance from the Office of Faculty Affairs and other offices as appropriate on campus to complete the work. Selected hire must be able to work independently and complete tasks with minimal assistance from direct team given that team members focus on other unique responsibilities within the school.

Advertised Salary

$40,019.20 - $45,011.20 per year based on experience and internal equity.

Work Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (EST) with a 30 minute lunch break.

Hiring manager open to discussing a slightly different scheduled if needed.
