We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Human Resources Advisor.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Advisor (HR Advisor) role is responsible for Tier 2 level inquiries and support requests to include advising managers and employees on matters including absenteeism, performance concerns, and compliance with policies, practices, and applicable employment legislation. This position will investigate, research, resolve, and respond to a variety of employment-related matters. Including but not limited to, accommodation requests, absenteeism, interpersonal conflict and resolution, and involuntary terminations. The HR Advisor provides consultation and resolution guidance to promote a positive workplace culture. Serves as initial contact for inquiries into HR processes, company policies and programs, and workplace accommodations. The HR Advisor is a trusted member of the HR team offering on-site support as needed. This role will be a centralized role and a shared resource across Ardent.

Responsibilities

  • Guide managers and employees regarding Ardent company policies, values, HR programs (benefits, pay, and salary) administration, and interpretation to ensure policies and procedures are handled consistently and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure activities are in compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO, and FLSA).
  • Conduct investigations which includes interviews, documentation, and resolution recommendations to address issues that are impacting the employee experience.
  • Handle worker compensation, accommodation, and unemployment claims and requests.
  • Support and guide managers in creating corrective action documentation.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor to first time and new-to Ardent people leaders in applying company policies fairly and consistently.
  • Welcome new hires to organization by delivering the Ardent New Employee Orientation (NEO) experience according to standards - this is one of the roles that may require the HR Advisor to be onsite.
  • Support HR Business Partners by serving as a listening post to the employee experience.
  • Proactively share insights and concerns. This team would be responsible for identifying issues and working with local HR team members for solutions.
  • Stay informed in human resources practices, company policy changes, and employment legislation and share knowledge with the HR One Source (service center) team
  • Prepare reports and present findings to field leaders and HRBPs.
  • Collaborate with HRBPs and HR Ops leaders to address trends in the employee experience.
  • Providing support and guidance to the HR One Source team.
  • Serve as a role model and coach to HR Representatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree; Bachelors degree preferred
  • 3+ years of HR experience
  • SHRM certification a plus

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient with various HR technology and MS Office software
  • HR system knowledge and experience preparing reports, interpreting results, and gleaning insights from the data
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers, management, and employees

Career Progression:

This position is ideal for individuals with previous HR experience and are seeking to move into a HR Business Partner role in the future. The HR Advisor role builds on entry-level HR experience and knowledge by moving from handling HR transactional activity to guiding and supporting managers and employees in more complicated issues and concerns. Through hands-on experience and coaching from HR managers, the HR Advisor develops coaching and consulting ability on-the-job. The HR Advisor role leads to next step role as a HR Business Partner (HRBP) or opportunities to specialize in HRIS, HR Operations, and Center of Excellences (COE).
