Job Title: Human Resources Coordinator Department: Human Resources Job Reports To: Senior Director, Human Resources Status: Exempt

Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • In conjunction with Receptionist/Intern Coordinator, manage Nashville Predators Intern program, known as Sports Education 101.
  • Oversee day-to-day benefits administration for the organization, including but not limited to EDI feeds, qualifying events, age-offs, monthly benefit carrier billing reconciliation, and COBRA administration.
  • In conjunction with HR teammates, coordinate annual benefits open enrollment, including but not limited to planning and communicating enrollment meetings and working with Payroll to ensure proper enrollment session setup in HRIS platform.
  • Manage workers compensation for all Nashville Predators and affiliate players, including but not limited to working with applicable third parties to ensure timely filing and processing of claims.
  • Maintain all employee files, including personnel, benefits, I-9, and workers compensation records.
  • Manage the annual background and MVR rescreen process, ensuring relevant data is captured via our third-party processor in a timely manner for all active employees on an annual basis.
  • Audit and update employee driver lists to ensure appropriate employees are covered under the company's driver policy.
  • Work with Bridgestone Arena Public Safety department to coordinate building access for all staff.
  • Collaborate with Director of Recruiting and Staffing Specialist to ensure timely, thorough completion of onboarding and new hire orientation, taking care to make certain all new hire forms are completed in HRIS platform.
  • Respond to all inquiries regarding employment opportunities and internships at Bridgestone Arena.
  • Assist with employee relations issues as needed, including intake, investigation, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Assist in the annual and midyear performance evaluation and goal-setting processes across the organization, to include tracking review and goal status and completion for all full-time employees.
  • In conjunction with Senior HR Director, prepare and present corrective actions and performance improvement plans as necessary, tracking employee progress toward completion of included objectives.
  • Partner with Payroll Specialist to process verifications of employment in a timely manner.
  • Work with Director, DEI, as well as GUIDER Board to track and report internal DEI metrics and further all DEI-related initiatives.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of employee appreciation events, staff holiday parties, Gold Nation Orientation, Hearts of Gold (charity) initiatives and awards ceremonies.
  • Partner with Information Technology team to maintain employee listing on the organization's SharePoint intranet as well as on the website; also work with IT to administer and oversee the company's cell phone plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:
  • 18+ years old.
  • B.A. Degree from accredited college or university required, with a preferred concentration in Human Resources.
  • Prior Human Resources experience preferred; equivalent work and/or internship experience will be considered.
  • Ability to work with sensitive data and maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based payroll/ HR software a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented.
  • As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including a criminal history check, driving history and character references.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, possess a suitable driving history and be insurable by our insurance carrier (without conditions).
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
  • Physical activities include sitting, walking and standing for prolonged periods of time, as well as bending, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, balancing and handling of materials.
  • Ability to speak and communicate clearly with others.
  • Must be willing to work in cold temperatures.
  • Lifting requirements - must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.
  • High finger dexterity.
  • Excellent speaking and listening skills, requiring the perception of speech.
