The mission of Center for Extended Care at Amherst (CECAA) is to provide top level nursing and rehab care for our residents, so they can maintain their highest possible levels and return to the community independently.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

The Human Resources Director is responsible for:
  • Employment - candidate screening, interviewing, credential and background checks, new employee o rientation, addressing grievances, and performing exit interviews
  • Employee Relations - problem solving, mediation, group facilitation, and referral
  • Claims Processing -Unemployment, Workers Comp, etc.
  • Payroll - including data tracking (time off, holidays, call outs, etc.)
  • Benefit Administration - working with our enrollment companies to offer health, vision, and dental insurance, PFML, 401K, and other benefits
  • Federal and state compliance - reporting, responding to requests, and attaining information in a timely manner

Qualifications
  • SNF experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field preferred
  • Broad working knowledge of general human resource practices including state and federal legal compliance, Leave of Absences, health care and other benefit program management, Unemployment, Workers Compensation, payroll regulations, hiring practices, and employee relations
  • Understanding of employee unions preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to professionally handle confidential information and situations
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines efficiently
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to work independently and verify one's own work
  • Ability to foster effective relationships with all levels of staff
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products including strong Word and Excel competencies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Proactive work style; willing to jump in and problem solve as needed
  • Willingness and ability to find inefficiencies in work flow
  • Good presentation skills; comfortable instructing individuals or groups on proper processes or procedures
