Our client, an industrial equipment supplier, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist with a specialization in benefits to join their team located in Urbana, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of their employee benefits programs, ensuring they are effectively administered and aligned with both company policies and regulatory requirements.

Human Resources Generalist Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts and other fringe benefits
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, providing guidance and assistance as needed
  • Collaborate with external vendors and consultants to ensure the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective benefits solutions
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new benefits programs or enhancements to existing programs, based on employee feedback and industry trends
  • Coordinate open enrollment periods, including communication with employees, distribution of materials and conducting informational sessions
  • Stay informed about industry trends and legislative changes affecting employee benefits and make recommendations for adjustments as necessary
  • Collaborate with the HR team on other generalist responsibilities such as employee relations, performance management and HR policy development

Human Resources Generalist Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
  • years of experience in HR, with a focus on benefits administration
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., ERISA, ACA)
  • Experience with HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • SHRM certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred
