Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role

As a Subject Matter Expert on the HR Business Systems team, the HRIS PeopleSoft Specialist will be primarily responsible for administering and maintaining General Dynamics Land Systems' PeopleSoft HRM system. This position resides in HR Business Systems and regularly collaborates with HR users to identity system needs, implement enhancements, and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Drive business processes and system configuration to a global standard where possible, to improve sustainability and maintainability.
  • Identify HR business process changes which increase efficiency and improve user acceptance and overall experience. Proactively formulate ideas and recommendations for system improvements.
  • Interpret business needs and design custom reports within existing platforms using built-in solutions.
  • Support various data requests, reports, and metrics.
  • Provide day-to-day functional system support for PeopleSoft, including resolution of issues as applicable working with technical experts internally and externally.
  • Support data imports and exports for PeopleSoft.
  • Assist with security and role-based permission administration.
  • Maintain data integrity to enable accurate and timely data generation for internal and external audits, including creating and conducting data audits, then analyzing and ensuring corrective actions are in place.
  • Primary contact for audit related PeopleSoft requests and support others within HR as needed with compliance or audits.
  • Support system upgrades, testing new patches, or new releases.
  • Ensure all GDLS PeopleSoft users have the knowledge and guidance to do their work in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Document and maintain system admin procedures and User Guides.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the business.
Qualifications Sought
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
  • Prior knowledge of enterprise-level HRIS systems such as PeopleSoft HRM and Jobvite Applicant Tracking System preferred.
  • Previous HR background to ensure procedures in the system meet organizational needs and goals.
  • Professional certifications from HRIS platforms preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required along with the ability to create queries.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to collaborate with users across the organization with varying skill levels.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, along with a willingness to take initiative.
  • Able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing tasks and priorities while accomplishing detailed work with accuracy.
  • Proficient in working on multiple projects concurrently while managing own priorities to consistently deliver on commitments and meet deadlines.
  • Must handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Must be available to occasionally work weekends, holidays and overtime as dictated by the needs of the business.
