Job Summary:

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This position reports to the Chief human Resources Officer.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Manages and oversees the daily Talent Acquisition function and team

· Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.

· Assists with managing the daily workflow of the department.

· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

· Assists discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

· Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Oversees the exit interview process and provide feedback to the CHRO and Departments.

· Ensures that HR and departments have regular recruitment & retention meetings.

· Provides support and guidance to HR team, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

· Foster relationships with local colleges, universities and high schools. Attend job fairs and career days.

· Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

· Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

· Assists Employee Relations Manager with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Assists Benefits Manager with the administration of various benefit programs as needed.

· Assist the CHRO in the daily administration of other HR services as directed or assigned, including recruitment and selection, promotions, transfers, contract negotiation and administration, affirmative action/EEO compliance, job classification, performance evaluation, and employee relations in accordance with quality management principles and overall objectives of the organization.

· Develop, prepare, generate and analyze ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data, including issues such as benefits costs, staffing levels/deployment, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, applicant tracking, affirmative action/EEO, compensation, promotions, etc. Effectively utilize the data processing system to obtain, store and analyze pertinent data and information.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and NYS Dept of Health standards and regulations.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Knowledge of all federal, state and local employment laws

· Knowledge in all functions of Human Resources, such as Recruitment & retention, Employee relations, Benefits, Etc.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Masters preferred in Human Resources or related field.

· A minimum of three years of human resource management experience required

· Previous health care experience preferred.

· Previous experience of working in a union and non-union organization preferred

· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to walk long distances.

· Stand for extended periods of times.

· Drive to colleges, universities and high schools

· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
