THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION.
The primary purpose of the HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), GS-0201-9, is to serve on the Group Commander's Support Staff (CSS). The incumbent will administer and direct the Group Commander's Support Staff functions to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Additionally, trains in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Compatible Military Assignment and Grade are required. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position.

Qualifications
General Experience: Possess a valid understanding of the basic principles and concepts of human resources functions and programs.
HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), GS-0201-9: Must have at least 24 months experience using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments; Experience performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data; Experience operating a computer and using varied computer programs; Experience of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee; Experience using human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency
