We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team. This role involves working with network layers, landing zones, connectivity, and permissions within the Azure space. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration or engineering, particularly with Windows WAN and Active Directory, and a keen interest in cloud technologies. The team that you're joining is small and extremely collaborative. We want you to feel comfortable bringing up any questions, concerns, or suggestions that you have when working on your assigned tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

Infrastructure and Network Management:
- Manage network layers and landing zones in Azure.
- Handle connectivity pieces and ensure secure and reliable network operations.

Permissions and Access Control:
- Manage and grant permissions in the Azure portal.
- Build out and manage Active Directory permissions.

Platform Services:
- Work with platform as a service (PaaS) offerings, including Databricks and Synapse.
- Set up, build out, and manage clusters, handing them off to u as required.

AI Process Management:
- Manage AI-enabled processes in preview mode, including enabling/disabling AI features and addressing related queries.

Collaboration with Platforms Team:
- Collaborate with the Platforms Team to ensure tools used by developers, such as VMWare, storage solutions, and backup systems, are efficiently managed.

Environment Setup:
- Set up and deploy environments from scratch, including potential redeployment of Azure Synapse.
- Manage and optimize Databricks environments, which are new and heavily used by the team.

Required Skills & Experience
- Experience with Azure services, particularly in network and permission management.
- Knowledge of platform services such as Databricks and Synapse.
- Familiarity with VMWare, storage solutions, and backup systems.
- Ability to set up, configure, and manage cloud environments from scratch.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly motivated with a keen interest in cloud engineering.
- Ability to manage assigned tasks effectively and efficiently.
