HYBRID System Safety Engineer

A client is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer in Huntsville, AL, or Golden, CO. This person will ensures the identification of Safety Critical Items and documentation of hazards within complex system designs and procedures. Typical analyses performed include Fault Tree Analyses, Hazard Analyses, hazard mitigation, Safety risk assessments, and system residual risk assessments for system designs. This is during design and development phase for an initial 9 month period. This person will be on a small team of two to three others. This is not EHS or manufacturing safety environment.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of System Safety experience
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Bachelors of Science degree in technical field

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Familiar with 29 CFR 1910 and MIL-STD-882
Demonstrable experience working with testing services suppliers in the commercial and DOD/Military
Familiarity with Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards and programs.
