The Incoming Receiving Quality Inspector at Aqua-Chem will perform mechanical and visual inspection of a wide variety of incoming, in-process, and final assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and parts for conformance to; specifications utilizing various inspection checklists, inspection equipment, regulations, and standards. Approve and accept incoming materials and parts into company ERP system by confirming specifications, quality, and condition in accordance with purchase order requirements.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm

Location: On-site; Knoxville, TN
Pay Range: $22.00 - 25.00/hr, Dependent on Experience

Essential Duties:
  • Perform complete visual inspection on all parts and assemblies for workmanship, dimensional checks, tolerances, and usability, using various instruments such as micrometers and calipers etc., to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, MTR reports, certs, etc.
  • Identify and reject nonconforming material and initiate Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR) per company procedures.
  • Utilizing various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, checks dimensions/processes on parts or raw material to ensure compliance to manufacturing drawings/blueprints/purchase order specifications.
  • Communicate with buyers on quality issues.
  • Attach correct labeling to outside of cartons/pallets/parts.
  • Must be able to work from blueprints for visual dimensional inspection of purchased or manufactured products utilizing measuring instruments.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or its equivalent; 2-5 years of related experience.
  • Training/Certification in Receiving Inspection or Quality Inspection Techniques.
  • Proficiency using measurement tools and instruments
  • Knowledge of Material Test Reports and Quality Documents
  • Blueprint Reading Skills
  • Warehouse experience
  • Fork lift and overhead crane certification is a plus
