Volt is immediately hiring for an Industrial Engineer in Portland, OR

Position Type: Full time (Contract)

Duration: 6 months to start with

Industry: A global aerospace/defense manufacturer

Schedule: 5 days onsite

Shift: 1st shift

As an Industrial Engineer, you will be:

• You will focus on production stability, implementing lean methodologies, assessing and performing to rate readiness requirements, reviewing the facilities footprint for improvements, as well as utilizing root cause analysis and process improvements to improve flow of products and people throughout the site.
• You will be engaging with all manufacturing, engineering, and production-supporting organizations and should be a self-starter and a collaborative team player.
• Our business unit allows you to learn all aspects of the Aerospace Manufacturing world including supply chain logistics and transportation, and fabrication of raw materials into products and assemblies to be delivered to our assembly and installation programs around the world.

DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES

• We are looking for candidates willing to lead initiatives around production stabilization and sharing Industrial Engineering methodologies applied throughout the industry.
• Ideal candidates would have experience with capacity planning to support production rate increases, resource utilization and crew cycling optimization, process improvement identification through Value Stream mapping, developing time standards, collaborating with multiple support organizations, developing complex recovery plans, and developing visual tools to identify performance metrics and areas of opportunity.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering field.
• 3 or more years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and/or production environment.
• 3 or more years of experience defining, developing, implementing, or improving production processes.

Pay Rate: $55-60 per hour.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
