The Role
Tesla is seeking a motivated and driven Industrial Engineer to optimize site layouts for Tesla Collision Centers. This role requires a thorough understanding of Industrial Engineering fundamentals and substantial skills with 2D or 3D CAD software. It is critical for a successful applicant to solve problems using first principles analysis. Experience with automotive collision repair is not required. The roll will be based in a North America Tesla Collision Center.
The team is responsible for optimizing layouts for green and brownfield Tesla Collision Centers and works collaboratively with other Industrial Engineers, design, construction, tooling, and operations to ensure sites are capable of achieving Tesla's objectives.

Responsibilities

• Review, optimize, and approve layouts for Tesla's autobody collision repair centers
• Own feedback loop between design, construction, new site team, and sustaining operations
• Develop Collision Center standards and ensure site design capability
• Develop layouts that support operational models
• Using AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam collaborate with design and construction
• Inform equipment, layout, and space utilization decisions utilizing simulation/modeling
• Define and optimize site plan and traffic flow to maximize safety, efficiency, and productivity

Requirements

• 5+ years engineering experience with emphasis on layout, material flow, project management, process improvement
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit preferred.
• Experience analyzing/optimizing processes, site layout, and traffic flow
• Experience developing innovative, thoughtful solutions to systems-level problems
• Comfortable working on ambiguous problems
• Mastery in conflict management and objective thinking
• Able to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines

Expected Compensation

$72,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
