INTERN OBJECTIVE:

Looking for an enthusiastic and driven Industrial Engineer student who is looking to gain practical experience in a manufacturing environment . This internship will provide hands on experience with

developing practical engineering skills, project management opportunities and would allow the intern to demonstrate and grow skills related to engineering economics, business case development, and manufacturing process optimization in real day to day problems and projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform current state analysis on equipment efficiency for fiber laser used to cut sheet metal
  • Develop action plan for improvement on current state and present to Operations leadership
  • Review material presentation to operators and suggest and implement improvements that utilize tools and concepts on the leading edge of modern manufacturing
  • Review current product design to improve design for manufacturing and standardize best practices across multiple product lines
  • Lead and/or assist projects using a hands-on approach
  • Research best practices and labor productivity programs
  • Support the logistics/operations team with reporting and business analysis
  • Provide research and support for assigned departmental projects and tasks
  • Participate and provide feedback in group meetings and discussions if applicable
  • Perform time studies to develop standards for current and new processes associated Labor Management initiatives
  • Layout design, cost-benefit analyses as needed
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business objectives

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY & SUBMISSION:
  • Possess good organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in excel and Microsoft
  • Student pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Degree with any of these subjects is acceptable: Technical, Science, Business, and Manufacturing.
