Industrial Maintenance Technician - Union - Chicago, IL

Employees are responsible for, but not limited to:

• Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and government safety regulations.
• Perform and maintain equipment by following the Preventive Maintenance program.
• Perform scheduled maintenance by working closely with management and operators to support operational needs.
• Perform equipment maintenance on all unscheduled work in a safe and timely manner to reduce operational downtime.
• Perform ground maintenance and other facility repairs. (Snow removal/building repairs)
• Assist management and operators in troubleshooting issues with equipment throughout the facility.
• Check and verify parts upon delivery against paperwork to insure correct items are received.
• Coordinate work with onsite contractors (electricians, pipefitters, etc.) as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, parts manuals, blueprints, etc. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places; fumes or airborne particles; chemicals (acids and bases); outside weather conditions; heat; noise and vibration.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or accredited GED
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing industries
• Completed an industrial maintenance trade school program or 3 years equivalent experience
• Industrial mechanical experience specifically in pumps, valves, gearboxes
• Basic computer skills
• Experience with LOTO, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces
• Effective Verbal and written communication

Preferred Requirements

• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in chemical or other manufacturing industries
• Welding experience
• Plumbing/HVAC experience
• Air Compressor experience
• Forklift Certified
