The position requires a US-based presence, but resource must expect to be able to travel to Denver, CO, Midland, TX, or Houston, TX approximately 2-3 times per month on average as part of this role.

Job Summary:

The selected candidate will be expected to support the RF communication requirements including private cellular solutions, for a modern oil/gas company utilizing IP based transport. This individual will interact with global peers within the network design, operation and support teams to solve challenging problems and implement changes. This is not a project management role, but a role of active participation. The following is a non-exclusive list of the primary technical activities which the engineer may be asked to perform, depending upon his/her experience and business need:
  1. Wireless system design using multipoint, 4G/5G, and/or Wimax protocols
  2. 4G/5G Core understanding, provisioning, and cellular network optimization
  3. Indoor and/or outdoor DAS/WiFi AP layouts including site surveys
  4. Two-way radio system support using Analog, TETRA, DMR, or P25 standards
  5. Scada and process control communication systems
  6. Propagation coverage studies using the Atoll propagation tool
  7. Link budget creation and analysis
  8. Point-to-Point microwave systems and backhaul design
  9. Satellite system integration
  10. Communication/Tower system document and drawing creation/review (Visio and/or Autocad)
  11. WIFI design and surveying using the Airmagnet suite of tools
  12. GIS Mapping tool representations with Google Maps, ArcGIS and/or Mapinfo
  13. WiFi controller programming, basic IP network configurations, and hardware commissioning

Minimum Requirements
    • BS Degree or higher in an engineering discipline (electrical or telecommunications engineering preferred)
    • 8-years of relevant, verifiable experience
    • Optimization and/or design experience with Nokia 4G and/or 5G solutions. Nokia CMU and AirScale platform.
    • Experience with performing point-to-point (backhaul) analysis, capacity planning, and using RF propagation tools, preferably Atoll.
    • Must be a US citizen or have permanent resident status. Sponsorship is not available.'
