Immediate openings available for a Part-time Infant Teacher and Full-time Toddler Teacher. The teacher will be responsible for assisting the lead teacher in the general supervision and management in a class of young children. In the lead teacher's absence, will be responsible for the operation of the classroom. The Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the lead teacher's direction

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be EEC Certified
  • Minimum requirements based on DEEC regulations
  • Completion of First Aid and CPR is required
  • A nurturing, patient, mature, organized, calm manner able to deal with a variety of personalities and situations with children, families and staff
  • Ability to work with at-risk and children with special needs, including using appropriate behavior management
  • A knowledge of DEEC regulations and standards
  • A comprehensive knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Ability to interact effectively with children, demonstrating effective ways to communicate with children

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in the supervision and nurturing of the children
  • Reports any observations or concerns about individual children to the lead teacher
  • Treats all children with dignity and respect
  • Maintains all DEEC stated standards and regulations
  • Participates in annual evaluations of self and Center program
  • Works cooperatively to create an environment that is rich in possibilities for exploring gender, race/ethnicity, and different abilities
  • Refer to the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment for guidelines of responsible behavior in early childhood education
  • Serves as an appropriate role model for assistants and other teachers
