THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE. THE AMOUNT OF TELEWORK IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DEPARTMENT AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.
Under the direction of an Information Technology (IT) Supervisor II/Information Security Officer (ISO), the Information Technology Specialist I or Information Security Specialist is responsible for performing various activities in support of the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (CUIAB)'s Information Security and Privacy Programs to ensure the protection of CUIAB's information assets and compliance with State, Federal, and CUIAB's information security and privacy policies and standards. The activities include, but are not limited to, maintaining the policies, management directives, practices and procedures, as well as various oversight functions, related to the Information Security and Privacy Programs.
The position is located at 2400 Venture Oaks Way, Sacramento, CA 95833.

Appeals are the first opportunity for all parties to present evidence and tell their side of the story before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) and have that ALJ decide the case. The ALJ's decision may be appealed to a five-member Board appointed by the Governor and the Legislature. The Board's decision is final, unless overturned by the California Superior Court.
