Duties

This position is located with the Joint Force Headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to serve as the Information Security (INFOSEC) Specialist and Industrial Security Program (ISP) Manager, responsible for managing the operations of the INFOSEC and ISP programs for the State ARNG.

Conditions of Employment

  • ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the JFHQ.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
  • Incumbent must attend the ARNG Security Manager Course within 12 months of appointment,
  • Incumbent must obtain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within 24 months of appointment.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a top secret security clearance.
  • May be required to work other than normal duty hours.


Qualifications

Military Grades:

Enlisted: E-7/SFC to E-8/MSG/1SG

Warrant Officer Candidate: WOC

Warrant Officer: W-1/WO1 to W-2/CW2

Compatible Military Assignments: 35 Series MOS

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least 36 months experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. Must have the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.

3. Knowledge of technical methods, principles, and practices of information security and foreign disclosure functional areas as well as technical knowledge of personnel security, industrial security, and automation security to provide products, plans, and services.

4. Ability to express thoughts and develop ideas to logical sequence and to convey ideas verbally and in writing on study findings and recommendations.
