Bring your experience and ideas as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support our security program. You will hone your skills in maintaining the appropriate operational security posture for information systems as stipulated by USG guidelines including 32-CFR-117, DoDI 8510.01, NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, JSIG, NISPOM, DSS Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM), and others.

What you'll be doing as an ISSO

  • Support IS security sustainment through Continuous Monitoring activities as defined by Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Work with the ISSM, Sys Admin, and our government customers to maintain compliance with Risk Management Framework and our Authority to Operate.
  • Enforce compliance with the System Security Plan (SSP) and Bell Global Security SOGs, and assist in corrective actions.
  • Support the ISSM with the development of Assessment & Authorization artifacts such as SOPs, Test Results and Implementation Plan, POA&Ms, RAR, and other documentation.
  • Monitor the systems for suspicious activity, investigate anomalous behavior, and report to the ISSM.
  • Conduct vulnerability scanning and remediation/mitigation, self-inspections, and security training awareness.
  • Perform change management, risk assessments, security impact analysis, and participate in CCB meetings.
  • Interface with the ISSM, CPSO, FSO, Program Managers/Directors, Enterprise IT, DCSA, DoD Customers, and Engineering to ensure applicable security policies and company goals are met.


Skills You Bring To this Role

  • Familiarity with using eMASS to develop and maintain SSPs and supporting Assessment & Authorization (A&A) documentation in accordance with RMF.
  • Experience in operating systems security features and settings, account and user interface management, group policy management, ports, protocols, and services management, system audit reviews, problem fixes, and other tasks for DoD cognizant systems.
  • Working knowledge of Windows & Linux-based operating systems.
  • Utilize strong critical thinking/analytical skills, attention to detail, creativity, and a sustained commitment to excellence and quality.
  • Must be able to work well individually and in a team environment.
  • Professional demeanor, interpersonal skills, and ability to excel in a high-paced multi-tasked environment.


What you need to be successful

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Cyber Security, or related field of study.
  • 6+ years experience in Information Security and System / Network Administration.
  • Active or under CE (continuous evaluation) USG Secret security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Must meet IAT - Level 2 DoD 8570.1-M compliant Professional Certification (Security+, CISSP, CCNA-Security, etc) or be able to gain certification within 6 months of start of employment.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as Nessus, SCAP, Splunk, and others preferred.
  • Knowledge of compliance practices such as using CIS Benchmarks and the NIST National Vulnerability Database to oversee the implementation and enforcement of security policies preferred.
