Information Systems Specialist I

The primary accountabilities below are intended to describe the general content and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.

Description

Supports department information systems requirements and objectives. Consults with system users and makes software and/or hardware recommendations. Installs and/or develops customized software as required. Provides training and documentation of software. Supports programmers with all software used by Facilities. Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs as necessary any department software.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS TO INCLUDE:

• Supports the WebTMA and eBuilder software for all users.

• Supports with purchases for the Facilities Department.

• Troubleshoots user problems with all software.

• Solicits user feedback, develops requirements, performs vendor analysis and recommends enhancements to department systems.

• Maintains department system records, software inventory and licensing, warranty and maintenance contracts.

• Performs other duties as assigned

Starting Hourly Rate: $18.85 - $20.00 (Commensurate with experience & qualifications)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, between 7:00 a.m. - 5:00p.m. (subject to change to meet the needs of the University). Note: Hybrid Eligible, after training/probationary period



PERSONAL:

Possess the necessary physical requirements, with or without the aid of mechanical devices, to safely perform the duties and responsibilities of this position to include:

• Lifting and carrying a minimum of twenty (20) pounds

• Climbing stairs

• Performing tasks requiring bending, standing, stooping, kneeling and extensive walking significant distances between and within buildings on campus.

• Working in confined spaces.

• Working within extreme temperature ranges.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, and One (1) year of related experience required.

MVR:

Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business. Current underwriting guidelines include possession a valid driver's license, issued in the United States; at least 21 years of age; at least three years of driving experience; maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
