Position Summary

This is a professional position in the Graduate School Technology Office. The position involves a variety of information technology services. This position will be responsible for managing computer systems, servers, and user support. Assist employees in maintaining their software products, troubleshooting, and resolving technology issues. Provide audio/video equipment and conference rooms support. Manage software and hardware licensing, research and purchase IT-related products, and manage IT equipment surplus. Serve as the Network Liaison for EITS and Building Access Controller. Serve as the Building Safety and Security Representative and backup liaison for Telephone Services. Duties are performed under the general supervision of the Director of Information Systems and Data Analytics.

Advanced knowledge of computer systems and networks, including systems analysis techniques and procedures, consulting, and documentation.

Provide computer systems, servers, and user support.

Manage on-site office computer systems, servers, software, and end users. Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution (including tasks such as software installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting) of various technical issues to ensure continuous operations.

Provide computer network support.

Manage office computer network, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices, audio/video presentation equipment, and other relevant products ensuring security and connectivity. Perform consistent testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of these technologies and devices to ensure required service levels.

Research, evaluate, and purchase needed IT products. Manage software licensing for the end users and IT surplus.

Serve as a Network Liaison for the office and collaborate with EITS on various IT-related tasks. Also, serve as a liaison for Telephone and Poster Printing Services to ensure the smooth operation of these services.

Serve as a Building Safety and Security Representative and collaborate with the UGA Office of Emergency Preparedness (EOP) department. Supervise emergency response training for the office employees. Maintain safety and medical equipment, the Evacuation and Shelter, and Emergency Contingency plans.

Duties/Responsibilities

Serve as a Building Access Controller (administer the Genetec security system, control the alarm schedule, and maintain building access calendar for all UGA employees accessing the building). Manage security cameras and assist the UGA Police Department when necessary.
