This position is located in the IT Acquisitions and Projects Section of the Information Technology Branch and is responsible for the IT Procurement and Administration (ITPA) Unit, which consists of IT purchasing, contracting, budgeting, and administrative functions. The supervisor must apply a high level of organizational understanding in formulating strategies and policies pertaining to State of California IT purchasing, contracting, budgeting, and control agency compliance. The incumbent participates in IT projects as a procurement subject matter expert; conducts IT purchases and contracts; monitors IT budget expenditures; and manages complex contracts.

Special Requirements

The SOQ serves as documentation of your ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. In your SOQ, describe your experience, knowledge, and competencies as they relate to each of the items listed below. The SOQ must be no more than 2 pages, typed, using 12-point Arial font on standard letter-sized paper with one (1)-inch margins.
1. Describe your procurement and contract experience as it relates to Information Technology services, hardware and software, and your role (i.e. Manager, Supervisor, Lead). Include procurement methods, statement of work requirements, terms and conditions, facilitation of solicitation documents, and any other 'key' information that substantiates your procurement and contract experience.
2. Describe your experience with the State Budget process and managing/reporting a Department's/Company's budgeted and actual expenditures. Describe the types of reports you created and identify their use and audience.
3. Describe your experience overseeing information technology projects with or as a Project Manager.
4. Describe your experience providing leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Information Technology staff.
