MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by an
organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education
Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of Education
(USDE). Major course work in Criminal Justice or a related field preferred.
Each year of experience as described below in excess of the required
thirteen years may be substituted for thirty semester hours from an
accredited college or university on a year- for-year basis.

2. Thirteen years or more full-time, wage-earning criminal justice,
program administration, or public administration experience to include
five years or more in the supervision of employees. Experience must include
development and oversight of technical programs in an investigative
environment.

3. Five years or more full-time, wage-earning criminal investigation
experience.

4. Five years or more full-time, wage-earning governmental agency
experience.

5. Currently holds a peace officer license from a state licensing authority,
including but not limited to an active Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
(TCOLE) Peace Officer license, and, if a TCOLE Peace Officer license is
not held at the time of application, meets the minimum standards for initial
Peace Officer licensure set forth in Texas Administrative Code Rule 217.1(b)
and the willingness to meet all additional requirements imposed by TCOLE
to obtain a TCOLE Peace Officer license within a year of hiring.

The following Military Occupational Specialty codes are generally
applicable to this position. Applicants must fully complete the
summary of experience to determine if minimum qualifications are met.

This vacancy is a position within the Office of the Inspector General
which is governed by and reports directly to the Texas Board of
Criminal Justice.

This position may be filled in Austin, Huntsville, or other location approved
by the Texas Board of Criminal Justice.
