Position overview:

The SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory's Contractor Assurance and Contract Management Division has an exciting employment opportunity for Institutional Compliance and Assurance Auditor with a background in audits, assessments, and risk management.

As a member of our Contractor Assurance and Contract Management team, you will primarily lead and develop integrated assessment schedules, manage workflow and processes to improve efficiencies and accuracy of program, and coordinate with leaders across the laboratory to identify potential assessment areas and topics. You will also have the opportunity to be innovative and interface with many team members throughout the Lab to support the Institutional Assessments Program and the other Contractor Assurance System (CAS) Systems and process.

This position reports to the Director of Contractor Assurance & Contract Management (CACM),

Your specific responsibilities include:
  • Direct complex programs or functions in consultation with senior leadership.
  • Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex functions or programs with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise. May provide development of program or function from initial concept to implementation.
  • Lead the planning and operations for programs or functions including the following:
    • Track assessments, audits, and assessment reports, findings, and corrective actions in SIIMS.
    • Provide updates on assessment and audit progress to Senior management.
    • Occasionally conduct independent and management assessments within the laboratory.
    • Coordinate with Stanford University Internal Audit program and the Department of Energy on Annual Assessment Planning.
    • Coordinate External Subject Matter Expert and consultants to perform specialized assessments and audits.
    • Manage consultant budget and contract.
    • Develop metrics and leading indicators.
    • Provide recommendations to senior leaders on assessment and audits.
    • Partner with Risk Manager and the Enterprise Risk Management program to ensure a risk-based approach to assessments.
    • Assist in development of the annual laboratory assessment and audit plan.
    • Provide guidance and direction to external assessment and audit teams.
    • Provide internal control consultation and advisory services to senior management.
    • Develop and maintain productive customer and staff relationships; become a trusted and valued partner.
    • Develop and train staff on the assessment program and conducting independent and management assessments.
    • Administer and maintain the Integrated Assessment System software and any potential new software systems adopted for laboratory use.
    • Manage the administration and evaluation of programs or functions. Oversee the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations. Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that often span organizational boundaries.
  • Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
  • Develop and manage outreach strategy that includes relationship development, communications, and compliance.
  • Oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.
  • May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.

The expected pay range for this position is $153,748 - $190,812 per annum. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
