Job Duties

Position provides functional supervision of the Treatment Department and is responsible for supervisee classification and work assignment processes at the Unit. Ensures quality programs and services are provided to meet supervisee treatment needs. Serves as an Administrative Duty Officer managing all institutional operations on a rotational basis. Responsible for conducting and attending unit meetings to ensure audit compliance and information exchange. Assists in the development, preparation, compliance, review and revision of ACA Standards folders and Treatment policies/procedures. Develops and establishes professional relationships with internal and external audiences to enhance information networks, assists supervisee, and ensures smooth facility operation. Promotes the development of self and staff through training. May supervise staff and manage the Law Library, Records Department, Laundry, Recreation, Medical Department, Hearings Officer and Chaplain Services.

Minimum Qualifications

Extensive working knowledge of VADOC correctional policies, procedures and practices. Demonstrated ability to complete reports and/or write policies or procedures. Extensive knowledge of supervisee classification processes and offender programs.

Additional Considerations

Additional knowledge in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field. Prior supervisory experience. Knowledge of inmate treatment modalities. Extensive working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.
