The Institutional Support and Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in providing high-level operational support for the Institutional Effectiveness & Research Office (IER). This position is responsible for ensuring optimal process efficiency, data quality, and policy adherence across colleges, schools, and departments. Key duties include understanding and documenting business processes, collaborating with Analytics and Decision Support (ADS) on reporting and data analysis, and partnering with IT on academic projects. Additionally, the role involves collecting, inputting, and managing data to ensure accurate and timely reporting, providing training and support to academic units, and continuously monitoring and improving academic processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required.
1-2 years of experience with academic operations preferred.
Experience using MS Excel and Information Systems.
Experience using pivot tables, graphs and charts, VLOOKUP and other Excel functions.
Ability to attain an understanding of technical systems that support the assigned business unit in an effort to provide reporting and subject matter recommendations and support.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data management.
Experience in project management or process improvement is a plus.
Knowledge of academic policies and procedures within higher education institutions is an advantage.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Quality and Analysis:
- Ensures sound data quality for various academic units.
- Performs data analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement, providing actionable insights to academic units and leadership.
- Summarizes and describes raw data sets for IER consumption.
- Assists schools, colleges, and departments in meeting IER deadlines for maintaining data quality.
- Ensures compliance with institutional policies and manages risks related to data quality and process integrity.
Technical and Operational Support:
- Assists academic units with technical and operational issues in alignment with IER initiatives.
- Works closely with academic units with a high degree of customer service.
- Understands University systems and data sets and accurately represents that information to academic units.
Business Process Improvement:
- Assists academic units in streamlining business processes using new or current technology in coordination with ADS.
- Documents business processes, reviews inefficiencies, and makes recommendations for improvement to supervisor.
- Continuously monitors and evaluates academic processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement and implement enhancements.
Project Collaboration:
- Works with ADS on tool creation to support academic policy and process development.
- Evaluates and recommends new features and/or tools to enhance academic operations and data management efficiency.
- Coordinate and oversee the execution of academic projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope. This includes setting project timelines, tracking progress, managing resources, and facilitating effective communication among team members and stakeholders.
Training and Communication:
- Provides training and support to academic units on new systems, processes, and tools to ensure effective adoption and use.
- Maintains clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing updates on projects, data issues, and process improvements.
General Responsibilities:
- Willingness to work on various other tasks as assigned by leadership.
